
Leona Louise Lewis, born on April 3, 1985. She is an actress musician, activist, and singer who hails from Britain. She was born and raised in London Borough of Islington and went to the Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis could gain national attention when she won the third season of The X Factor in 2006. In addition, she received the PS1 million recording contract with Syco Music. The single she was awarded, a cover from Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This" was a top-charting number one for several weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke a world record by reaching 100,000 digital downloads within just thirty minutes. Clive Davis's label J Records, signed Lewis to a deal for five albums for the United States. Lewis's successes continued when she dropped her debut album, Spirit (2007). The album has been certified as platinum by the UK it became the fourth best-selling album in the 2000s. Spirit was, according to Official Charts Company is the 21st Century's most-sold debut album by a female musician. Its lead single "Bleeding Love" was on top of the UK charts for seven weeks, and was the top-selling single of 2007. It was also the most-sold single of 2008, and Lewis won the Billboard Award for Best New Artist. Echo was her sophomore studio album. The album also featured the song "I Have You in My Eyes" to accompany Avatar. Lewis's track "Collide," was an collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and also she released Hurt: the EP, her debut extended performance. Glassheart (2012) marked Lewis's third studio album. The album was Lewis' first attempt at electronic dubstep and music. Her Glassheart Tour was in the beginning of 2013, as she began to record material to create her first Christmas album. The album Christmas, With Love came out in the latter half of 2013. The album's first single, One More Sleep, was a top 3 hit on the charts in the UK. This chart entry resulted in Lewis to be the first British single female singer to make it to the top 5 spots, having eight songs. Lewis also overtook Olivia Newton-John's record for seven singles.
